Swimming Lessons 🏊🏽‍♀️

Welcome back Gist lovers, I really can’t stop laughing as I type this 😂😂💀.

Last year 2021, I had a list of things I wanted to accomplish, learn and or achieve before the year ended. Swimming was one of them. At my big age I can’t be on a vacation and be scared of water😂. Also I needed to learn because swimming is a great life skill to have!

In September/October, I was motivated and I started my search for a swimming school. I found one really close to my place🤸🏾‍♀️. Made my first payment and completed it before starting the class.

Excited! Ready for the new experience but I was also very nervous. Something about water just scared me a lot. Anyways, as a good student I ask the swimming instructor what I needed for class. She mentioned Swim suit, swim cap and towel.

Which meant I am swimming class ready🤸🏾‍♀️ No more excuse.

First day! 😂😂 a mess of a day that was. First I didn’t know how to put on the swim suit, yup! So bad I had to call my friend on a video call butt naked in the change room because wow 😭😭😂 I was struggling. She helped and I managed to get it on.

First few classes were a mess and so depressing because i took long to catch on while others that started after me were already swimming without floaters. Your girl was drinking pool water 😂 the fear was just too much.

I finally caught on 🤸🏾‍♀️🥳 yay! And it felt so so good. I was so proud of myself.

The problem started when I got worked up with workload and I just got so exhausted each day that all I felt like doing was sleeping after work. This meant I missed classes🥴. To make matters worse, when I thought I would go back I caught the Covid-19 virus and ohh that was no fun. So classed ended there.

In my head “well it is December now so I might as well start classes again in January” It is January now 🌚🌚😂. I am having cold feet 🥺😭.

I texted my swimming Instructor and she said classes are starting this Saturday 🤭😂. So yeah your girl shall swim again. Let me go look for my swim suit.

May I not embarrass my ancestors this weekend in class. Cheers to perfecting my swimming skill 🤌🏾🥂
