Oh this is a sad day for my colleagues and I as we bid a very dear friend, mentor, and sister a farewell as she moves on to other beautiful adventures.
I met Maletsatsi for the first time on my first day at work in October 2020. I remember it was a really busy day so we didn’t chat much because she was dealing with all the patients. She was the only pharmacist till I joined.
When I started working, I had zero experience in Clinical research/trial so you can imagine the amount of work and patience she had to put in to ensure I was well equipped for the job. She did so well!!! I know so many things and still learning but she already instilled the main foundation. This applied to not just myself but the two other amazing ladies I work/worked with as well. She trained us!
She is extremely intelligent and when you tell her she will just laugh it of😆😂. She is really shy like that. With the kind of responsibilities she took on I am so shocked she didn’t lose her mind. All you will hear is “Eish guys this is alot” but she will keep at it and do it well!
I try to take pictures of her but she will always run away so I don’t have a good shot 😩😂.
I got one small video though. There she is in the video below running💀💀😂.
It is really hard to see her leave because I feel we still had a whole lot to learn from her but also we understand that this is part of every work life cycle we meet people and we grow to other places. She is a rare gem💎.
I will miss her terribly and stories about her little toddler😂, yup we haven’t met him but we know how hilarious he is. I personally had a really tough year last year and was extremely supportive all through. It was the consistency for me.
So to Maletsatsi L Monametsi(I won’t type out what L stands for otherwise she will kill me🤣💀), you have taught me to be soft and gentle, to be ethical in my work at all time no cutting corners, to be patient and open to learning, to be a team player, to want to teach others, to not use swear words😫💀 and to prioritise my peace at all times. Thank you ❤️
See to see how amazing she is she got us gifts🥺.
I will hold on to everything I have learnt from you. I exist as who I am today in my curreny field of work because of you, I am because of you.
I refuse to say goodbye. I will see you soon and hopefully get the privilege to work with you again.
With lots and lots of Love,
Òyè
