Home! Finally! It had been almost 4 years since I spent Christmas holidays in Nigeria with my family😩.
But this time I was all in for a fun December🤸🏾♀️. Booked flights early and ready for the fun.
The part no one talks about is the money that goes into this😩 especially during a Pandemic. You pay for ticket, you pay Covid tests one both ends then gifts and gifts Ofcourse money for December enjoyment 🤌🏾. Account on red alert 🚨.
Nothing was stopping this December in Nigeria from happening. I have lots of friends and acquaintances I have made from social media, particularly instagram. As long as you are not creepy we will get along well lol! This helped foster amazing connections and friendships which lead to me attending two eventful weddings in Nigeria 🤸🏾♀️
This is a big deal for me because I left Nigeria at a young age and had never experienced a wedding as an adult and as an Asoebi belle🥰. "ASOEBI" this is a cultural practice/lifestyle for most Nigerians during a celebration (wedding, monumental birthday or funerals). I will show more of this in the other blog posts from this series😉.

Being at home was amazing I had all the food I missed, drinks and the warmth of being around family to top it all🥰. I met a few old friends and new friends I was meeting for the first time. Hurt that I could not see everyone including some family members, I only had a few days to spend at home 😞. Regardless of all that, my time at home was amazing.
Let’s go! 🥳
Wedding 1: This was an invite from two of my friends Dapo and Femi. I will make a blog post about them some day 😂❤️. They are surely the coolest. The wedding was for a friend of theirs and they managed to get me an invite all in the hopes for me to enjoy myself and experience Nigerian wedding.
The wedding was a day after I arrived in Nigeria. Excited!
Super excited until I asked them for the theme for the wedding. Femi says “Rusty iron” or something Like that. Nna(me) confused 😐, what’s that 😂? I go to google for help because I don’t want to embarrass myself. Google as always, saves the day.
Prior to my trip I had ordered some outfits from one of my sisters who is a fashion designer and a gele artist. Coincidentally one of the outfit was in that colour😩🙌🏾…..I truly serve a living God.

The only issue now was, the dress wasn’t ready 🤣🤣🤣. My sister spent all night and early hours of the day trying make my dress. Sewing machine noise all night 💀. Who needs sleep when Òyè needs an outfit? Yup no one 😂.
Wedding was at 3pm, my darling people my dress was ready at 2pm, make up done(super quick cause I really just put things on my face💀). Well I also needed to take pictures before I hit the road, mind you Venue is an hour away plus Lagos traffic let’s say in 2hours I arrived at the venue.
After sitting in traffic for hours, I finally arrived. My friends where there with their dates😍. Gorgeous people, this made me really happy. We got in, joined the reception and after party 🤸🏾♀️🥳🥳. I danced and danced. It was really amazing. The decor was absolutely beautiful, it was an outdoor wedding.
See some pictures and videos below.
And as usually my mum and sisters start calling me to come home 🤣😭😭😭…..party was just starting. I tell them I would stay longer but will crash at my cousin’s place who stay closer to the view.
Fun was had and it was a lovely experience.
